The Project

Design Brief

The packaging design project for Shree Datta Snacks involved significant creative work and we were thrilled to take it on because it was their first time venturing into professional packaging design. Our goal was clear: Elevate Shree Datta Snacks to an international standard.

Our Approach

We identified ready-to-eat dry snacks and focused on crafting a distinctive appeal to cater to a wider market. We developed the product names, communication points, packaging structure, photography, and design language, all while honouring Shree Datta's strong connection to Maharashtrian culture. We chose to take inspiration from Pinguli art into the design—its visually striking style, mid-tone colours, and light contrasts. Additionally, we aligned the packaging with Shree Datta’s eco-conscious practices.

We worked on a series of ready-to-eat dry snack products. We evolved a complete packaging design system including name, communication, visuals, labelling and aligned it with international standards. For e.g., 'Kurmura Chivda' is named ‘Puffed Rice Mix’ to highlight its light and crunchy texture, with the tagline ‘light mouthfuls’ ensuring the product stands out on shelves in global retail stores. The packaging remains clean and minimal, with ample breathing space, while vibrant colours add a dynamic touch that resonates with customers. After the initial launch of four products, the client has launched six to eight more products since 2022, after receiving an overwhelming response from their customers.

We are exploring redesigning these packages into different forms and structures as part of ongoing development while assisting them in setting up both digital and physical systems to support this expansion.
